Greetings!

With our 2011 festival opening in just a few weeks, I am pleased to offer complementary tickets to our mainstage production of Ionesco’s “La Leçon” to you as a newsletter recipient. This play will run for only 3 days, with 8 pm performances on November 18 – 20 at the University of Washington’s Ethnic Cultural Theatre.

I am holding 100 seats gratuit for opening night (Friday, November 18) and 50 for Saturday, November 19. These free tickets are available to the first 150 people to reserve them. Simply follow this link tickets to reserve a place.

For a complementary ticket you will need to enter the discount code “Ionesco” then select “free” after clicking on “show discount prices.” You will note that the general admission price for the show is $15.00.

Why the free tickets? As producer for Steeplechase Productions, I want to assure the many artists that have worked so hard on this year’s festival an appreciative audience. We were fortunate this year to receive grant funding from both 4culture and Seattle Arts and Cultural Affairs. I can think of no better investment than to to say thank you to our supporters.

More details here.

These are uncertain times. The news is full ominous events. Even here in America, people are taking to the streets. This Spring I hope to stage a new play, “Les Mutins” (see here), an adaptation of Jules Verne’s “Les Revoltés de la Bounty.” This is admittedly an ambitious project. It calls for a cast of 21 with musical underscoring and a video backdrop. After seven years of producing plays in French, I think we are ready to tackle a spectacle of this scope. But only if we can continue to count on your continued support. Please reserve a seat today.

Sincerely,
Tom Ansart
